The reporter learned from China Railway Harbin Group Co., Ltd. that the "East Passage" of the China-Europe freight train, as an important railway artery connecting China and Europe, had recently achieved a new breakthrough. As of July 12th, the cumulative traffic volume has exceeded 3000 trains, and the transported goods have reached 321,768 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 4.5% and 2.4%, respectively. The target of 3,000 trains was achieved 8 days ahead of last year, setting a new historical high for the same period.

Data shows that in the first half of this year, the traffic volume on the "East Passage" of the China Europe freight train accounted for 30.3% of the national total, and the traffic volume of return trains accounted for 40.6% of the national total, ranking first in the country. The outbound China-Europe freight trains from various ports continue to maintain a stable growth trend, with year-on-year growth rates of 5% and 76.7% for Manzhouli and Suifenhe railway ports, respectively. The monthly average traffic volume of outbound China-Europe trains at the Tongjiang Railway Port, which was just been opened last year, has increased significantly by 171% compared to the same period of last year.

Harbin Group Company continuously strengthens the role of trunk lines and port channels, in order to comprehensively improve the efficiency of port operations and vehicle interchange capabilities by enhancing coordination and cooperation with domestic port regulatory authorities and overseas railways. The reconstruction projects of the Suifenhe-border section of the Harbin-Suifenhe Railway and the Jiamusi-Tongjiang Railway have successively started. The reconstruction project of the Xilingkou-Bugt section of the Harbin-Manzhouli Railway is also about to commence. The implementation of these projects will further improve the efficiency of the China-Europe freight train in the rear passage of the railway port.

At present, the "East Passage" of China-Europe freight train reaches 14 countries in Europe and connects more than 60 cities in China, with 26 routes. The transported products cover 12 categories including electrical products, daily necessities, industrial machinery, agricultural and sideline products, fully reflecting its important role in promoting international trade and economic exchanges.
